Grand Theft Auto VI, or GTA 6, is the next big release from Rockstar Games, but GTA 6 Map Leak is a concern. The game promises a larger world, new characters, and next-generation gameplay. Fans are watching closely for any news or leaks. Here’s the latest about the map size.
Rockstar Games may have dropped a clue about GTA 6’s map size. In the official artwork, the main character, Brian Heder, holds a map. Some fans think this is our first real look at the game’s map, while others see it as just a design element. The GTA 6 is now set to release in May 2026.
GTA 6 Map Leak or Clever Distraction?
Fans who took a closer look at the image can’t agree. One Reddit user says, “I think it’s the first look at the map,” while others think, “It could just be a state or an island.” Still, the leak points to GTA 6’s map being much bigger than GTA V’s. An earlier teaser with the Leonidas Keys also hinted that the game world could be larger than we thought.
The Hype is Real
The GTA 6 Mapping Project, run by fans, has been active for almost three years. Players use trailers, screenshots, and leaks to build the game’s map, sharing over 10,500 posts so far. Their guesses have already been right about places like Vice City. Comparing maps from 2022 to May 2025 shows big progress, and many think this community effort will be just as accurate as it was for GTA V.
Adding to the excitement, fans spotted a masked Cuban flag in official artwork, sparking theories that GTA 6’s map would stretch beyond Vice City into Cuban Territory. At the same time, Reddit users are comparing GTA 6 scenes with real Google Map locations, impressed by Rockstar’s detailed world design.
GTA 6 Map Leaks: What to Expect
It is safe to say that, whether this leak is valid or not, the hype for GTA 6 is still huge. Rockstar’s reputation for creating detailed open worlds has raised high expectations among the fans and community.
In my opinion, the game will offer a vast and detailed open world with lots of side activities and exploring opportunities for the players. Why do I think this? If you have played the most recent installment from Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll know what I am talking about. Even after being released in 2018, RDR2 still manages to beat many of the newer 2025 games in detail, physics, and world design.
The hype is justified, although the real challenge for Rockstar will be living up to these expectations. If Rockstar delivers, GTA 6 could easily become the biggest and most influential game of the decade.
