The OnePlus 15 is almost ready for launch and OnePlus is not about to let anyone forget about it. The Chinese firm has been teasing its next flagship for a while now, and just ahead of launch has got some more promo shots to show a whole new Mi-like design.
The latest teasers are again all focused around one particular color- Sand Storm- that seems set to be the highlight option in this series. A metal body is treated with aerospace-grade micro arc oxidation.
In simple words, that is a high-end type of coating that gives the metal a ceramic feel and increased durability. The finish is the sort you’d expect to see on aircraft or industrial equipment, designed to resist scratching and scuffing from everyday wear and tear.
From the new images which we have used in post’s feature image, we can see that the OnePlus 15 has gone down a different design route from its predecessor, the OnePlus 13 (yeah, the company skipped ’14’). The most noticeable change is the new rectangular rear camera island; it’s coming very much into line with other recent OnePlus designs, such as the OnePlus 13T.
So far, OnePlus has only publicized the Sand Storm version, but we’ll likely see this one in Purple, Black, and Titanium as well. However, there has not been any official announcement yet about which other colors they might be at launch.
When OnePlus starts dropping teasers like this, it usually means one thing- a launch is looming! According to past fakes and a website, the China debut has now been confirmed: October 27th, but note that this is still an informal announcement.
What’s more interesting still is the likelihood of a global launch on November 13, which would be way before normal for OnePlus. Traditionally, the brand launches globally a few months after releasing in China. For example, the latest OnePlus 13 series dropped in October 2024 at a Chinese event and only made its way onto international markets by January this year, right before Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 line-up.
This time, though, OnePlus is seemingly changing its playbook. Instead of going head-on with Samsung, it looks like the OnePlus 15 will come between the iPhone 17 series launch (Samsung usually falls in line with Apple) and the forthcoming Galaxy S26. That’s a good move- it gives OnePlus a chance to gain attention from users who are in the process of comparing these two heavyweights.
OnePlus 15 Price and Release Date
The OnePlus 15 5G is likely to be a premium phone. As of now, no leak or report confirms the price of the OnePlus 15. However, given the same pricing strategy in place by the company, the new model could start at roughly $899, just like the OnePlus 13. Considering that OnePlus already raised the price by another $100 with the last release, we doubt they will allow consumers too much time to get accustomed to the new price point and then raise it again this soon.
However, the release date rumor is the expected price of OnePlus 15 could be $999. The OnePlus 15 release date is expected in mid-October or hopefully the end of this October, but no one has confirmed anything yet.
