Freelancers are now experiencing substantial evolution in their earnings with the use of artificial intelligence. AI has improved productivity and efficiency, it is changing the way work is done in freelance platforms and making a strong pitch in income across the world.

According to the Upwork data AI-related projects surged by a 25% increase in their income, now freelancers who are doing AI-related work are having a jump of 40-41% hourly premium. In 2024, AI-related freelancing an increase by 60%, and is now paying 40% more per hour than non-AI related jobs.
Hayden Brown, Upwork CEO in mid-2024 spoke about the role of Artificial Intelligence and said that freelancers are adopting the most relevant and latest tools and technology to get their work done.
Kelly Monahan, Upwork Managing Director said that huge beneficiaries are those with strong existing expertise who incorporate AI tools into their workflows.
Erica Gessert, Upwork CEO said that rather than replacing jobs AI is making economic growth in the world and explained that AI is enabling both low-end and high-end roles.

Despite AI’s great rise, businesses are still preferring human talent rather than full AI automation. They want AI to amplify human abilities instead of replacing them, in short, they just need it as a supporting tool for help.
