Federal agencies can utilise xAI’s Grok AI models for $ 42 per agency for 18 months, through March 2027. According to a press release Thursday (September 25) from the GSA, this offer is made possible through a OneGov deal between xAI and the U.S. General Services Administration.
According to the release, participating agencies will have access to xAI’s latest reasoning models — Grok 4 and Grok 4 Fast — as well as dedicated xAI engineers to assist agencies in implementing these tools into their workflows.
According to the release, it also provides agencies with a migration path to FedRAMP and DoD Impact Levels (IL)-based Grok enterprise subscriptions, offering access to enhanced capabilities and increased rate limits.
According to the release, the agreement is effective immediately, and the Grok AI models are now available through the GSA’s procurement channels.
In a release, Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum said, “Open access to powerful AI models is critical to creating the objectively accountable, efficient government that taxpayers need.
According to xAI, this agreement builds on the “xAI For Government” offering the company first announced in partnership with the GSA earlier this year.
On July 14, the company announced xAI Fort Government, stating that this program provides federal, local, state, and national security customers with access to its AI tools, as well as a range of unique skills tailored for government customers, in addition to its commercial offerings.
As PYMNTS reported on August 21, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI companies have recently unveiled programs focused on the public sector.
Roughly on Monday (September 22), Meta introduced a brand new collaboration with the U.S. government that opens up the corporation’s Llama open-source AI models for use across all federal departments and agencies.
